About Us The New Jersey Audio Society was established in the 1980s as a group interested in high performance audio playback. We encourage and welcome anyone interested in high performance playback systems from 78's to DXD/8xDSD to join and participate through active membership. Annual dues are currently $60. Membership includes a subscription to The Source, the publication of the New Jersey Audio Society, and invitations to attend meetings as well as to communicate through the submission of material or letters for publication in the newsletter and participate in our newsgroup site on the web.

We try to vary our meeting content among product demonstrations, music, instructional meetings (tweaks, room treatments, DIY, etc.) and just plain hanging out and listening to music on members’ systems. As examples, we have had demonstrations by manufacturers of high-end audio equipment, visits by recording engineers (including playback and mixing of master tapes), special meetings at dealers’ facilities, component and speaker builder meetings where some members who build speakers and electronic components have discussed and shown their designs, meetings dedicated to demonstrations of and discussions relating to vintage audio equipment, and demonstrations from professional musicians of their instruments and discussions of recordings of the great performers on those instruments. We also have annual summer picnic and year-end holiday party meetings.

Meeting Comments
Downstairs system interesting with Odo omnidirectional speakers - good sound generally, very good soundstage, but midrange seemed a bit recessed. Upstairs system speakers sounded great, but did not have a chance to listen much. Thanks to Odo for wonderful hosting, great home, and fantastic food!
My first meeting. Two very nice sounding systems with (for my ears anyway) very different characteristics.
After it got quiet upstairs I located a lost tribe of audiophiles down in the basement worshiping to the sound of wild drums. Most interesting.
Very nice meeting. Downstairs system had a pleasant sound with low listener fatigue. I thought it was a little dark however and needed more detail in the presence area. Upstairs was more to my liking overall but could get a little bright at times. The small room may have been the cause. I still enjoyed both systems.
Thanks go to Odo once again for providing such a warm and welcoming time for all.
Was a guest of Virtua hospital in Mount Holly for 2 weeks. Now minus a gall bladder. At least that is one less organ to get infected! :)
Love the view of NYC!
A very pleasent meeting. The basement system sounded very nice and I enjoyed everything I heard with ZERO listener fatigue. Unlike the upstairs system where the highs were too aggressive and coupled with a lack of lower midrange. Speakers are usually the first suspects but maybe the room itself. Perhaps both. Oh yea, the food was EXCELLENT!
